You stuck in a lot of extra chords in here. The Chords of F C G are right but all the extra stuff just half-way works and takes away from the song. Get rid of the Dm7 and the F/G and the F#dim and it's good.

Tomlin makes it simple, there are many more transition chords in the hymn as with most hymns of the day you just have to get used to them but you can play the whole song with just the C and F... the Dm7 adds a certain ammount of color
