We Used to Vacation
by
Cold War Kids

Am
I kissed the kids at noon
G#m
then stumbled out the room
Gm
I caught a cab ran up a tab
F#m
on 7th and flower

Am
best recital I had to ruin
G#m
missed my son's graduation
Gm
punched the Nickles boy for taking his seat
F#m
gets all that anger from me

Am G#m
still things could be much worse
            Gm F#m
natural disasters on the evening news
Am G#m Gm
still things could be much worse we still got our health
F#m
my paycheck in the mail

                 C G F
I promised to my wife and children
                 C
I'd never touch another drink
    G F
as long as I live but even then
   C G F
it sounds so soothing
C G F
this will blow over in time
C G Am
this will all blow over in time

Am
I'm just an honest man
G#m
provide for me and mine
Gm
I give a check to tax deductible
F#m
charity organizations
Am G#m
two weeks paid vacation
                   Gm
won't heal the damage done
       F#m
I need another one

Am G#m
still things could be much worse
           Gm F#m
natural disasters on the evening news
Am G#m
still things could be much worse
                 Gm
we still got our health
                  F#m
my paycheck in the mail

                 C G F
I promised to my wife and children
                C
I'd never touch another drink
    G F
as long as I live but even then
   C G F
it sounds so soothing

to mix a drink
    C G F
and sink into oblivion

                 C G F
I promised to my wife and children

that accident
C G F
left everyone a little shook up

but at the meetings
  C G F
I felt so empty
C G F
this will blow over in time
C G F
this will all blow over in time

P.S. listen to the song to get the tempo and everything, but here you go...enjoy!!

Hey Try tuning your B string up to a C . then play an A5 this will give you an Am, then keep the A5 position and do the base run down
G#, G, F#. buy playing it this way its much easyer, The chorus can be played with this tuning . Same as you did in your version , but compensate for the tuned up string .I found it easyer and sounds better
