Capo 1st fret
Standard Tuning

-------------------------------------------------
Tabbed this bout a year ago on the piano.
With capo on the first fret it should be right on the money.
The piano chords are a step up from these. C -> C#
-------------------------------------------------

[Intro]

C Am G
My song is love
C Am G
Love to the loveless shown
C Am G
And it goes on
           Dm C G
You don't have to be alone

C Am G
Your heavy heart
C Am G F C
Is made of stone
C Am G
And it's so hard to see clearly
          Dm C G
You don't have to be on your own
           F C G
You don't have to be on your own

[Chorus]

Dm C G
And I'm not gonna take it back
Dm C G
And I'm not gonna say I don't mean that
Dm C G
You're the target that I'm aiming at
          F C G
And I'll get that message home

[Verse]

C Am G
My song is love
C Am G F C
My song is love, unknown
C Am G
But I'm on fire for you, clearly
           Dm C G
You don't have to be alone
           F C G
You don't have to be on your own

[Chorus]

Dm C G
And I'm not gonna take it back
Dm C G
And I'm not gonna say I don't mean that
Dm C G
You're the target that I'm aiming at
        F C G
But I'm nothing on my own
        F C G
Got to get that message home

[Instrumental]

| Dm | C | G | 2x

[Chorus]

Dm C G
And I'm not gonna stand and wait
Dm C G
Not gonna leave it until it's much too late
Dm C G
On a platform I'm gonna stand and say
          F C G
That I'm nothing on my own
       F C G
That I love you, please come home

[Instrumental]

| F | C | G | Am | 2x ---- These are quick and quiet

[Outro]

   F C G Am
My song is love, is love unknown
         F C G C
And I've got to get that message home

I like to play the C's like this on the chorus..
E | ---3--
B | ---3--
G | ------
D | ---2--
A | ---3--
E | ------
makes it easier to switch to the G's
But the original position works too!

Love this song!

the Am's don't sound right. Imo Em sounds better.

I agree, Em sounds really close on guitar, but playing it on the piano for so long I'm still convinced Am is the winning chord in this argument. Listen to that Am(Em) in the closing verse, where's Chris Martin when you need him?!
