Coldplay - Swallowed In The Sea
from the new album "X&Y"

Tabbed by: Pöbelmeister on Wednesday 9th of June 2005

Used Chords:

E | B | G#m | F# | C#m

There is no real Verse/Chorus-Arrangement in this song, so I just wrote it down the way it is.
Actually we've got just two main chord patterns:

	1. E | B | G#m | F# | E | B (B) | F#
	2. G#m | G#m | G#m | B | F# | E (E) | B

---------------------------------------------------------------

(Solo Vocal Passage:)

   B
You cut me down a tree
And brought it back to me
And that's what made me see
	Where I was going wrong
You put me on a shelf
	And kept me for yourself
	I can only blame myself
	You can only blame me

	    E B
And I could write a song
	  G#m F#
	A hundred miles long
	      E B
	Well, that's where I belong
		          F#
	And you belong to me
            E B
And I could write it down
	   G#m F#
	Or spread it all around
	    E B
Get lost and then get found
	                    F#m B
	Or swallowed in the sea

(Full Band:)

            B F#
You put me on a line
	    E B
And hung me out to dry
	     F# E
	And darling that's when I
                         B
Decided to go to see you
            B F#
You cut me down to size
            E B
	And opened up my eyes
        F# E
        Made me realize
                         F#
	What I could not see

	    E B
And I could write a book
            G#m F#
The one they'll say that shook
	    E B
The world, and then it took
			     F#
It took it back from me

	    E B
And I could write it down
  	   G#m F#
	Or spread it all around
	    E B
Get lost and then get found
                                F#
And you'll come back to me
            E B
	Not swallowed in the sea

(Instrumental Bridge: C#m E B F# [played 4 times])

	    E B
And I could write a song
	  G#m F#
	A hundred miles long
	      E B
	Well, that's where I belong
		          F#
	And you belong with me

	    E B
	The streets you're walking on
	  G#m F#
	A thousand houses long
	      E B
	Well, that's where I belong
		            F#
	And you belong with me

	    E B
Oh what good is it to live
	     G#m F#
	With nothing left to give
	   E B
	Forget but not forgive
		           F#
	Not loving all you see

	    E B	Coldplay
	The streets you're walking on
	  G#m F#
	A thousand houses long
	      E B
	Well, that's where I belong
		            F#
	And you belong with me
            E B
	Not swallowed in the sea

        G#m F#
	You belong with me
            E B
	Not swallowed in the sea
              G#m F#
	Yeah, you belong with me
            E B
	Not swallowed in the sea

previous comment isnt correct. It right generally. I see what you mean for the first verse, there is a deep B note held throughout the whole first verse, where the guitar isnt played. All i question is the H chord in the bridge lol look for yourself you will see what i mean. The rest is ok.
