                           9 Crimes - Damien Rice
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Fliegendes_Lama

Tuning: EADGBE

Chords: x02210 Am
        x33210 Fmaj7/C
        332010 C/G
        32001x Gadd4 (or G6add4 320010 if you like)

I suggest you, to leave the indexfinger on the b-string, 1st fret.

If you wish to set highlights, you can play Gadd4 that way: 320013
I actually do this sometimes in the chorus.
Nice video, too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smKb79ltpaU
Here an guitar version: http://youtube.com/watch?v=4qfGiRLadio

This is how you could change the chords. This is close to the
tab-version, so you get some kind of melody into the song.

    Am   Fmaj7/C   C/G   G6add4

// Intro
[Am] [Fmaj7/C] [C/G] [Gadd4] (x4)

// Verse 1
        [Am]         [Fmaj7/C]
Leave me out with the waste,
       [C/G]      [Gadd4]
This is not what I do.
        [Am]          [Fmaj7/C]
It's the wrong kind of place
     [C/G]       [Gadd4]
To be thinking of you.
        [Am]  [Fmaj7/C]
It's the wrong time,
   [C/G]    [Gadd4]
For somebody new
      [Am]  [Fmaj7/C]
It's a small crime,
        [C/G]  [Gadd4]
And I've got no excuse.

// Chorus
           [Am]          [Fmaj7/C]
And is that alright with you?
[C/G]    [Gadd4]            [Am]
  Give my gun away when it's loaded.
      [Fmaj7/C]  [C/G]
That alright with you?
            [Gadd4]                       [Am]
If you don't shoot it how am I supposed to hold it?
     [Fmaj7/C]   [C/G]
That alright with you?
       [Gadd4]            [Am]
Give my gun away when it's loaded
     [Fmaj7/C]   [C/G]
That alright with you?
    [Gadd4]
with you?

// Verse 2
        [Am]         [Fmaj7/C]
Leave me out with the waste,
       [C/G]      [Gadd4]
This is not what I do.
        [Am]          [Fmaj7/C]
It's the wrong kind of place
     [C/G]       [Gadd4]
To be cheating on you.
        [Am]  [Fmaj7/C]
It's the wrong time,
     [C/G]       [Gadd4]
She's pulling me through.
      [Am]  [Fmaj7/C]
It's a small crime,
        [C/G]  [Gadd4]
And I've got no excuse.

// Chorus
Is that alright with you?
Give my gun away when it's loaded
Is that alright with you?
If you don't shoot it how am I supposed to hold it
Is that alright with you?
Give my gun away when it's loaded
Is that alright
Is that alright with you?

Is that alright, with you?
Give my gun away when it's loaded
Is that alright with you?
If you don't shoot it how am I supposed to hold it
Is that alright, yeah?
Give my gun away when it's loaded
Is that alright
Is that alright with you?

(Slight Overlap..)
Is that alright, yeah?
 //Give my gun away when it's loaded
Is that alright, yeah?
 //If you don't shoot it how am I supposed to hold it
Is that alright, yeah?
 //Give my gun away when it's loaded
Is that alright, is that alright?

Is that alright with you?

There are two versions of this song floating around, one with Lisa Hannigan and the acoustic version. This tab is of the acoustic version's tabs, the second youtube.com link provided.

Also, after I started fiddling around with this song, there are a few little things Damien adds in. Just prior to the switch from Am to Fmaj7/C he puts down his pinky finger to play 0322000. As the Fmaj7/C starts, he strums 010330 first before placing down his middle finger to complete the chord. I think he does other such things for the other two chords, but I haven't been able to figure it out just yet.
