Make Love Stay
Dan Fogelberg (c) 1982, 1983

Now that we love [D G/D]
Now that the lonely nights are over [D G/D A/D D]
How do we make love stay? [D G A D G/D A/D]
Now that we know [D G/D]
The fire can burn bright or merely smoulder [D G A Bm]
How do we keep it from dying away? [G A D C/D, D C/D G/A]

Elusive as dreams [D G/D]
Barely remembered in the morning [D G/D A/D D]
Love like A phantom flies. [D G A D G/D A/D]
But held in the heart [D G/D]
It pales like the empty smile adorning [D G A Bm]
A statue with sightless eyes [G A D C/D]

Tag:
Moments fleet, taste (so) sweet within the rapture [G Bm D, D4 D]
When precious flesh is greedily consumed [E4 E A4 A]
But mystery is a thing not easily captured [G Bm D, D4 D]
And once deceased, not easily exhumed. [Em C Gma7/A A]

Now that we love [D G/D]
Now that the lonely nights are over [D G A Bm]
How do we make love stay? [G A D C/D]
[repeat tag]

Now that we love [D G/D]
Look at the moonless night and tell me [D G A Bm]
How do we make love stay? [G A D C/D]
[D G A, D C/D G/D C/D G/D, D]

G/D: xx0433
C/D: XX0010

Enjoy, STEVE

I can see why nobody likes this chart. The most useful ones are those with the chords above the words in the proper positions and which can be transposed.

I want to post or [tab]
