Living Life - Daniel Johnston

Tabbed by - Ché Cartwright

Transcribed from the Kathy Mccarty version for the guitar.

I learnt this some years ago after hearing it on 'Before Sunrise' while I was learning
play guitar.

Intro: Note hit the A short and sharp, dont let it ring. Listen to the recording to
what im saying.

D A

Hold me like a mother would

          E G A E

Like i've always known somebody should yeah

         A E

Although tomorrow

                  A D|----------0---|

D A

Well it just goes to show

       E G A E

Though people say were an unlikely couple

           A E

I'm seein' double

   A

Of you

Chourus: This bit alternates rapidly a lot between the G and D chords, listen to the
to get the exact feel

(Strum lightly at first then build out towards the end before dropping onto the A and
E to take you back into the verse)

G D G D G D G D G D G D

Ohhh This is life And everythings alright

G A G D (on the record the guitarist rapidly
Changes between the G, A and
Livin' livin' livin' livin' livin' Life maybe E and D chords.. too fast
for me to pick out so play
                                              around here)
Verse:

D A

Oh hope for the hopeless

    E G A E
I'm learning to cope with the emotionless mediocracy

   A E A

Oh ho, day to day living D|----------0---|
                             A|--0--0h2------|
                             E|--------------|

D A E

How can I help but be restless when

     G A E

Everything seems so tasteless and

            A E

All of the colours seem to have

      A

Faded away

Chorus: As above

Outro: Just finish up there or you can repeat the intro again and dont forget to let the
note ring and say......'Life!'

Enjoy, this was my first tab and even something as simple as this takes time. I now
all the crazy guys out there
who interpret entire bridges and legnthy hendrix solos! Hats off to you!

Great tab! I've been searching everywhere for this song -I thought it was the Eels who made it (the only version I know)

I'm playing an Em instead of an E -but maybe that's just how the Eels does it?
Idk... Anyway, good job dude!

It's a Daniel Johnston song. The Eels made a cover of it.
