Song: Down By The River
Artist: Dave Matthews

This is my first tab so i dont really know how to do this correctly, but im pretty sure
is how dave plays it with tim on Radio City.

Em7 A
Be on my side, Ill be on your side, baby
Em7 A
There is no reason for you to hide
Em7 A
Its so hard for me staying here all alone
Em7 A C Bm
When you could be taking me for a ride.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

When playing these chords, i tend to take hammer the third fret on the third string for
and second fret fourth string for Em7

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chorus
C Bm C Bm
D
She could drag me over the rainbow, take me away
G D A G
Down by the river
G D A G
I shot my baby
G D A G A
Down by the river, Dead

Em7 A
You take my hand, Ill take your hand
Em7 A
Together we may get away
Em7 A
This much madness is too much sorrow
Em7 A C Bm
Its impossible to make it today.

C Bm C Bm
D
She could drag me over the rainbow, take me away
G D A G
Down by the river
G D A G
I shot my baby
G D A G A
Down by the river, Dead

Em7 A
Be on my side, Ill be on your side, baby
Em7 A
There is no reason for you to hide
Em7 A
Its so hard for me staying here all alone
Em7 A
When you could be taking me for a ride.

C Bm C Bm
D
She could drag me over the rainbow, take me away
G D A G
Down by the river
G D A G
I shot my baby
G D A G A
Down by the river, Dead

Em7 (022030)
A (X02220)
C (X32010)
Bm (X24432)
G (320003)
D (XX0232)

I dont know if this is letting me put the chords where i want to, but at least this is
chord progression. Its a very easy and fun song to play. enjoy!

My only suggestion would be to change the last G in the G D A G progression during the chorus to a C. I'm not sure how Dave plays it. But in a solo version of this song it sounds a little better.

BTW I love this song!!!
