Here is Richard Thomson's "Dimming of the Day" as played by David Gilmour.

Learn tabbed parts by heart and it will flow.

Intro Part 1:
e | ------------------2-2h0------------2h0--0--2--3------------ |
B | ---------3-------------3---------3----3-------------------- |
G | ------2-----2------------------2--------------------------- |
D | --0------------0-----------0------------------------------- |
A | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
E | ----------------------------------------------------------- |

e | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
B | -2------------3---------5-----5-7-5-5--2------------------- | ending
G | --2---------------------------4-4-4-4--2------------------- | section
D | ---2-----2/4-------4/5----5---5-5-5-5--2------------------- | of
A | -0----0---------0------------------------------------------ | Part A
E | ----------------------------------------------------------- |

Intro Part 2:
e | ------------2-0h2p0----2h0-------3---2h0---0--2------------ |
B | ---------3---------3------3-------------3--------3--------- |
G | ------2------------------------2--------------------------- |
D | --0-------------------------0------------------------------ |
A | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
E | ----------------------------------------------------------- |

e | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
B | -2------------3---------5---------------------------------- |
G | --2-------------------------------------------------------- |
D | ---2-----2/4-------4/5------------------------------------- |
A | -0----0---------0------------------------------------------ |
E | ----------------------------------------------------------- |

Play Intro Part 1 and Part 2 straight one after the other.

Now the lyrics start and we will use only Part 1 (this is why I broke them down.)

(Intro Part 1)
This old house is falling down around my ears

G D A (repeat only ending section of Part 1)
I'm drowning in a river of my tears

(Intro Part 1)
When all my will is gone you hold me sway

  G D A D
I need you at the dimming of the day

e|------------2-----------------------|
B|-0--2--3/5-----3--------------------| let's call this
G|---------------2--------------------| "Part 3"
D|------------0-----0---0-------------|
A|----0--2-------------4-2-0----------|
D|-3----------------------------------|

A E
You pull me like the moon pulls on the tide

A E
You know just where I keep my better side

A D G
uuu uuu uuu

(Intro Part 1)
What days have come to keep us far apart

G D A (repeat only ending section of Part 1)
A broken promise or a broken heart

(Intro Part 1)
Now all the bonnie birds have wheeled away

  G D A D (repeat Part 3)
I need you at the dimming of the day

A E
Come the night you're only what I want

A E
Come the night you could be my confidant

A D G
uuu uuu uuu

(Intro Part 1)
I see you on the street in company

G D A (repeat only ending section of Part 1)
Why don't you come and ease your mind with me

(Intro Part A)
I'm living for the night we steal away

  G D A D (repeat Part 3)
I need you at the dimming of the day

  G D A D
I need you at the dimming of the day

e|------------2-----------------------|
B|-0--2--3/5--------------------------|
G|------------------------------------| Ending Part
D|------------0-----------------------|
A|----0--2----------------------------|
D|-3----------------------------------|

I used drop down D (as Gilmour does). It sounds much better.
