"Transatlanticism" - Death Cab For Cutie
Standard Tuning

This is my best interpretation of the chords from listening. Hope it works for you guys as well.

From the intro until the first "Oh no", it's all piano. I just listed the chord in case you wanted to play
them. If you are to play it all, the chords in () are played on the piano alone and are optional for if you
want to play them on the guitar.

Intro:
A C#m Dsus2 F#m
A C#m Dsus2 F#m (E)

Verses:

A C#m Dsus2 F#m
The Atlantic was born today, and I'll tell you how:

A C#m Dsus2 F#m (E)
the clouds above opened up and let it out.

      A C#m
I was standing on the surface of a perforated sphere
          Dsus2 F#m (E)
when the water filled every hole.

    A C#m
and thousands upon thousands made an ocean,
                     Dsus2 F#m
making islands where no island should go.

   (E)
Oh no.

A C#m Dsus2 F#m
Those people were overjoyed; they took to their boats.

A C#m Dsus2 F#m (E)
I thought it less like a lake and more like a moat.

    A C#m
The rhythm of my footsteps crossing flood lands to your door have been
Dsus2 F#m (E)
silenced forever more.

    A C#m
The distance is quite simply much too far for me to row.
         Dsus2 F#m
It seems farther than ever before.

   (E)
Oh no.

Dsus2 A (F#m E)
I need you so much closer. (x4)

F#m C#m
I need you so much closer.

Dsus2 E
I need you so much closer.

F#m C#m
I need you so much closer.

Dsus2 A
I need you so much closer.

F#m C#m

So come on, come on. (x4)

Almost perfect. The only thing thats wrong is the second "I need you so much closer" part. Instead of F#m C#m Dsus2 A, it should be F#m Bm Dsus2 A (F#m E)
