Late night when you need my love

The song heavily samples an old 70s track 'Why can't we live together' that does indeed have the C/G D end to the verse. Well done for hearing/finding it and including it in the tab when I notice others have missed it! My advice to forgottenwords is to stick your headphones on and play along with what's written here. You will hear the D played by the sampled organ and overplayed by the synth bass all the way down at 'D2'

Close, I was surprised at the D major as well, but there is definitely an F# in whatever chord the pad is playing, and D makes enough sense.
I would add a Gm7, maybe even with an added 9, to the verse instead of the second Bb.
And possibly make the Bb a Bbmaj7 as well. The synth pads definitely use a lot of decorative notes so these chords fit well (this is probably why a lot of other transcribers get confused and play chords like F and Dm: because they sound okay when you play along to the track).
So the verse would go: Bbmaj7-Am7-Gm7-Am7-Bbmaj7.
