Em D
You swear blind there is no weight in the water pail

Em D
You say, "My love, you take the cards that you're dealt."

               Em D
Cuz there's no guiding light arcing a line to Bethlehem.

Darling when the ice caps melt, when the devil's in the bible belt, don't cower in your bed.

               G D
I'll be on the 5:45, you can meet me at the railway line, and don't look so scared.

Bm D
Cuz we've been through worse than this, before we could talk.

G D
The trick of it is, don't be afraid any more.

Just one little correction, at this part:

G D
Cuz we've been through worse than this, before we could talk.

It should be:

Bm D
Cuz we've been through worse than this, before we could talk.

Other than that, its perfect.

^ You have it the wrong way round - it's Bm to D first, then G to D. But otherwise yes.

Fantastic tab, just a few comments to clarify and to make it a bit easier if you're on your own and singing to it, especially if you're a beginner like me!

The first section (i.e. the first two 'blocks' of tab) is played twice on its own; the lyrics come in the third time. Each block is played four times per verse. The 'solo' part comes between the verses. If the solo's too hard, you don't have to play it!

For the second half of the first two verses, you can actually just not bother with the first pull-off (12p10, 11) and play the B string on the 10th fret once and move to the next part; it sounds fine to me.

Strumming tips from "You swear blind" onwards:

- Single strums of the chords up until 'dealt' then rhythmic on 'dealt' (I play down strums for this bit - but it's whatever you like really).

- The next Em is played sort of half muted with downward strums then you build it up to 'Bethlehem' and go rhythmic again with the D chord (down, down-up-down, down down-up-down-up-down if you like).

- Then back to a single strum for the next Em ('If it's dark...').

- For the G on 'darling', I start playing on 'ice' instead, but again it's all a matter of preference. It's all rhythmic strumming up until the last line. I suggest playing the Ds the way I said before, but you can do whatever you want with the G really - might sound good if you go for a heavier strum on 'ice caps melt' and 'bible belt' and the same for '5:45' and 'railway line'

- The Bm bit is all downwards strums, and a break after 'before' then the D

- Finally, the last Em is a single strum (I play it on 'trick').

If you know how to vibrato (basically wiggle your finger on the note and keep the guitar still, or wiggle the guitar and keep the finger still!), this can make the single notes of the fingerpicking bit a little spicier too.
