Cowboys and Angels – Dustin Lynch
All the Versions here are close. Just mixing up the major and minor chords
sometimes. These are the correct root chords that will let you play it on an acoustic.
The perfect starter.
You can play it in whatever key you like. I like Capo 3

[INTRO] Em D G - Em D C

[Verse 1]

Em D G
There's a want and there's a need
C G D
There's a history between
Em D G C
Girls like her and guys like me
Em D G
Cowboys and angels

I've got boots and she's got wings
I'm hell on wheels and she's heavenly
I'd die for her and she lives for me
Cowboys and angels

[CHORUS]

   C--D G--Em
We ride side by side
           C--D Em (Em7)
A cloud of dust, A ray of light
   C G
My touch is her temptation
    D Em
Her kiss is my salvation
      G G/F# Em D C
She's sweet, I'm wild, we're dangerous
Em D G
Cowboys and angels

[Verse 2]

I'm not sure why her path crossed mine
Accident or grand design
Maybe God just kinda likes
Cowboys and angels

[CHORUS]

There's a want and there's a need
There's a history between
Girls like her and guys like me
Em D Em
Cowboys and angels
Em D G
Cowboys and angels

Made some adjustments after playing this one for awhile. Hope y'all enjoy.

I think the way he plays it is this pattern but 5 half steps up and without the capo

great and accurate tab but I'm having trouble with the D on "A ray"... I can't quite get it... It just doesn't sound right to me... Am I the only one?

I believe that on the very last "Cowboys and Angels" it drops back to a Em rather than a G
