This is wrong. The song is played with the tuning in open E. Ed plays a harmonic on 12th to get the sound like an A. Fact.

Got the basic sounds right, but the chords and tunings are way off!

It's supposed to be a G#m, and not an E, in the beginning of the last phrase in the chorus ("Aiming to climb high").
