Drunk - Ed Sheeran

[Intro]

G

[Verse 1]

G
I wanna be drunk when I wake up,
G D Em
On the right side of the wrong bed,

And never an excuse I made up,
Em D C
Tell you the the truth I hate
                    C D G G
What didn't kill me, it never made me stronger at all,

G
Love will scar your makeup,
G D Em
Lip sticks to me so now i maybe lean back there,
                 Em D C
I'm sat here, wishing I was sober,
                  C G G
i know i'll never hold you like I used to

[Pre-Chorus]

         Em C
But the house gets cold when you cut the heating,
      G D
Without you to hold i'll be freezing,
   Em C
Can't rely on my heart to beat in,
   G D
Cause you take part of it every evening,
   Em C
Take words out of my mouth just from breathing,
G D Em
Replace with phrases like 'when you leaving me?'

[Chorus]

C G
Should I, Should I,
                Em G
Maybe I'll get drunk, again
          Em G Em G
I'll be drunk, again, I'll be drunk, again
                 C D
To feel a little love.

[Verse 2]

G
I wanna hold your heart in both hands,
G D
Not watch it fizzle at the bottom of a coke can,
Em
And i've got no plans for the weekend,
Em D
So should we speak then? Keep it between friends?
C C D G G
Though I know you'll never love me, like you used to

G
There may be other people like us,
G D
Who see the flicker of the clipper when they light up,
Em Em D C
Flames just create us but burns dont heal like before
C D G G
And you dont hold me anymore

[Pre-Chorus]

    Em C
On cold days cold plays out like the bands name
G D
I know i cant heal things with a handshake
   Em C
You know i can change, as I began saying
G D
You cut me wide open like landscape
Em C
Open bottles of beer but never champagne
G D Em
to applaud you with the sound that my hands make

[Chorus]

C G
Should I? Should I?
               Em G
Maybe I'll get drunk, again
          Em G Em G
I'll be drunk, again, I'll be drunk, again
                  C D
To feel a little love

[Bridge]

Em C G
All by myself
Im hear again
Em C G
All by myself
You know i'll never change
Em C G
All by myself
Em C G
All by myself

           Em G
I'm just drunk, again
          Em G Em G
I'll be drunk, again, I'll be drunk, again
                  C D
To feel a little love

If you have a little bit of a higher voice than Ed, try playing it with capo one. Great chords though!

I love this song and found that playing with a capo on the third fret and not using a pick has a nice effect on the sound. It is for people with a higher vocal range but it sounds quite nice if you do it.
