          Summertime Blues – Eddie Cochran
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: maguri
Tuning: Standard

Eddie Cochran
Summertime Blues (1958)
(Cochran/Capeheart)

Originally a non-album single, after Cochran's death included on
"The Eddie Cochran Memorial Album" (1960)

On the studio recording the idiosyncratic chord riff is played on
an acoustic guitar. It is played in D-shapes but the key is E major,
so probably a capo 2nd fret is used.

Chords in [ brackets ]: no chords, just bass guitar; suggestion: hit the
chord on the 1 there but then mute the strings there with your left hand
and strum with your right to create a “rhythm track”.

capo: 2nd fret
play: D
key: E

Good tab, Maguri. A tip to get it even closer is to detune the bottom string to D, then add the capo at 2nd as you have it, you can then simulate those bass note breaks. If you have a whammy bar to bend that note down, even better.

I'd use these shapes for the main riff:
D = 000232
G5 = xx0033 or 770055
A = x02220

For the chugging G riff I'd use:
G5 = 555xxx
G6 = 575xxx
