Intro : Cadd9 - A7sus4 - F - G - G

Cadd9 A7sus4 F G
It's 3:00 AM, and I'm awake and my heart is still dreaming
Cadd9 A7sus4 F G
It's 3:00 AM, Outside I hear the souls still screaming
Cadd9 A7sus4 F G
It's been so long you know since my head's been this clear
Cadd9 A7sus4
Just like a ship lost in the night
F G
I just don't know which way I should steer

        Cadd9 G Cadd9 G
But I'll keep chasing my dreams, And only you can make them real
Cadd9 G F G
I pour my heart out every night, But do you know the way that I feel

Cadd9 A7sus4 F G
Sometimes this is work, And don't you know sometimes this is play
Cadd9 A7sus4
Sometimes you are listening to me
      F G
And sometimes you don't hear a damn word that I say
Cadd9 A7sus4 F G
Sometimes there's a girl , Sometimes I go home alone
Cadd9 A7sus4
And I guess it's no wonder right now
F G
That I do very well on my own

        Cadd9 G Cadd9 G
But I'll keep chasing my dreams, And only you can make them real
Cadd9 G F G
I pour my heart out every night, But do you know the way that I feel

Cadd9 A7sus4
And I will play, just as long as you will listen
Cadd9 A7sus4
Now I'm in no big hurry to get back on the road
  Cadd9
Woo, Sometimes in this lifestyle
                                     A7sus4
I feel like there's so much that I'm missing
                                     F G
Well I'm missing you, It's just that I'm...so far from home

Cadd9 A7sus4 F G
It's 3:00 AM, and I'm awake and my heart is still dreaming
Cadd9 A7sus4 F G
It's 3:00 AM, Outside I hear the souls still screaming

I've been getting quite a bit of demands on picking and rythm assistance, so i've made this little help segment to hopefully aid in the learning of the song.

First, finger pick during the whole song, its pretty much your thumb to strum the top 3 chords and your 1st finger to strum the bottom 3.(thats how i finger pick, some f-pick differently.) Know that this is not an exact replica of every single note, this is what i play roughly when i play the song and it does the trick, trust me. (well i'll do my best to put what i play). Also if you use the right finger on a note instead of a pic, you'll also pick up on the whole strumb pattern for the chord.

Also when i have 2 notes being strumbed by my thumb, DON'T worry much about NOT strumbing the note on the lower string, just know that your finger will justbrush upon them, don't bother to try and focus on just those 2 notes and not the 3rd. in fact, it sounds better to strumb the 3, i think. keep in mind that this is a soft song, so light fingers is good for this song.

remember that this is a capo 2 song with standard tunning.

Cadd9 | A7sus4 | F | G
e|-------3-----3--------0---0------1----1------3---3--|
B|----3---3------3---3---3---3---1--1---1---3---3--2--|
G|-----3------0-------0---0-------2----------0---0----|
D|---2--2--0h2--2---2--2---2--------------------------|
A|--3---3----------0---0---0----3----3-3---2------2---|
E|-----------------------------1-----1-1--3---3---3---|

Hope this helps, and one last thing, don't be afraid to improvise on
strumming, a good player can play anything at different beats and
strum patters, it also gives the idea that you can play rather then
just immitate.
