I learned this song from the acoustic demo on some B-sides (if you want
to know, it's on the "Connection" single in the UK, and the "Stutter"
single in Europe and Austrailia)

On the album version there's some really strange intro thing, and I don't
know how it goes. Basically, the whole song is 4 chords...

A, F, E, and D

wow, isn't that hard!

here's how it goes with the lyrics

A F
John's gone his sense is loaded
E D A
over by your house it's so basic
  F E D
I think you're faking have a good time but don't get into my head
A F
Do you recommend I wait a while
E D
direct and live or keep it constant and selective

Chorus:

A
Blue
      F E D
I can read your mind, if you want to I will let you
A
Blue
      F E D
I can read your mind, if you want to I will let you

(after the chorus bit, on the album version, acoustic just repeats the
first verse)

A	F	E	D

A F E D
John's gone, he needs attention do you understand his inclination?
A F E D
I've seen you shaking, comedown here and I'll show you the wrong way
A F F
try to rearrange this tired old line connect this smile and
D
keep it standard and reflective

Repeat chorus

End with the bridge

A	F	E(slow down here) D	A

tnks for transposing and yes, so simple! Feels there should be a C after the D going into chorus?

I believe playing everything as power chords makes sense to what I'm hearing on the demo version. A5 577xxx F5 133xxx E5 022xxx D5 x577xx Instead of playing a C in the chorus per the other comment, I'm hearing a D move to D7 (which has the C in it). Try this? D5 x577xx D5(7) x575xx The last two chords at the very end sound like nothing else in the song. Cmaj7 and Asus2 sound right to me. Cmaj7 x32000 Asus2 x02200 Thank you for the chord progression. Really simple song, but so beautiful!
