[Intro]
| A Aaug | A Aaug |
          2/4
| A Aaug | A | Dm |

[Verse]
A F#m
 Early in the morning
    D E A E D
the sun was up and the sky was a-very blue
A F#m
 Without a warning
   D E A F#m E
As I looked up and my thoughts returned to you

   A Aaug
A noise in the city made the children run
    D Dm(6)
And hide themselves away
    A C#m D E | D |
And thunder boomed and lightning filled the sky

[Verse]
A F#m
Looking from this window
    D E A E D
A thousand ripples running past my door
A F#m
Standing on an island
D E A F#m E
Looking for someone upon the sho-ore
A Aaug
I can see it very clearly
D Dm(6)
Nothing's really changed
     A C#m D E | D7 |
Then lightning strikes across an empty sky

[Chorus]

A D
OOoo, rain is falling
A D
Oooo, rain is falling
A C#7/G# F#m
Oooo, the rain is falling
        D7 | A Aaug | A Aaug |
Will it wash away those lonely tears?

[Verse]
           A F#m
With their brand new time transporter
        D E A E D
They'll think maybe I fought to get away
         A F#m
But with all their great inventions
    D E A F#m E
And all their good intentions, here I'll stay
A C#
Down on the corner where the sun had shone
     D Dm6
The people gathered round
     A C#m D E | D7 |
Then scattered as the raindrops hit the ground

[Chorus]

A D
OOoo, rain is falling
A D
Oooo, rain is falling
A C#7/G# F#m
Oooo, the rain is falling
        D7 | A Aaug/G | A/F# Aaug/F |
Will it wash away those lonely tears?

[Chorus]

A D
OOoo, rain is falling
A D
Oooo, rain is falling
A C#7/G# F#m
Oooo, the rain keeps on falling
        D7 | A Aaug | A Aaug |
Will it wash away those lonely tears?

[Coda]

| A Aaug/G | A/F# Aaug/F | A

the end :-)

Great tab! By the way the line where you (don't know what they say) is "Nothing's really changed."

chorus, try a Dm on the word lonely to transition D, Dm, then the A chord on "Tears". It may not be exactly what he used but it's a beautiful progression that captures the sadness of the song. Give it a try!

The chord on "children" should be C#7
The third line of the chorus should have a C# in place of the E
The chord before the chorus should be D7
The first chord on the last line of the chorus should be D7
On the first "lightning" the chord should be C#m
