[Verse 1]

[F#]The litebrite's now [B]black and [F#]white
You [G#m]took apart a picture that [D#m]wasn't right
[Ddim]Pitch burning on a [B]shining sheet
[G#]The only maker that you'd [B]want to meet
[D#m ]A dying man in A [B]living [F#]room
[G#m]Whose shadow paces the [D#m]floor
[Ddim]Who'll take you out any [B]open door

[Chorus]

[G#m]This is not my [B]life
It's just a [F#]fond farewell to a friend
[G#m]It's not what I'm [B]like
It's just a [F#]fond farewell to a [D#m]friend
[G#m]Who couldn't get things [B]right
[F#]A fond farewell to A [D#m]friend [G#m B]

[F#]He said really I just [B]wanna [F#]dance
Good and [G#m]evil matched perfect it's a [D#m]great romance
[Ddim]I can deal with some [B]physic pain
[G#]If it'll slow down my [B]higher brain
[D#m]Veins full of disa[B]ppearing [F#]ink
[G#m]Vomiting in the [D#m]kitchen sink
[Ddim]Disconnecting from the [B]missing link

[Chorus]

[G#m]This is not my [B]life
It's just a [F#]fond farewell to a friend
[G#m]It's not what I'm [B]like
It's just a [F#]fond farewell to a [D#m]friend
[G#m]Who couldn't get things [B]right
[F#]A fond farewell to A [D#m]friend [G#m B]

[Verse 3]

[F#]I see you're [B]leaving [F#]me [G#m]and taking up with the [D#m]enemy
[Ddim]The cold comfort of the [B]in-between
[G#]A little less than a [B]human being
[D#m]A little less than A [B]happy [F#]high
[G#m]A little less than A [D#m]suicide
[Ddim]The only things that you [B]really try

[Chorus] (x2)

[G#m]This is not my [B]life
It's just a [F#]fond farewell to a friend
[G#m]It's not what I'm [B]like
It's just a [F#]fond farewell to a [D#m]friend
[G#m]Who couldn't get things [B]right
[F#]A fond farewell to A [D#m]friend [G#m B]

If you are in standard tuning..
For D#m you're going to want to play it something close to lower than an open E chord, something like:
---
---
-3-
-4-
-6-
-6-

This will work even better if you play the other bar chords without the lowest root note and work off the 5ths. Maybe even exclude the high e strings with them if you're doing them in E/Em shapes. For example (the intro as):

--------------
--4--5--2-----
--4--6--3--3--
--6--7--4--4--
--6--7--4--6--
-----------6--

Thanks for the input! Personally, when I do the D#m, in the intro, after the F#, I keep the bar on the 2nd fret and play a Dm shape. In the verse I play an Am shape in 6th position, then move back and play the D diminished in 5th position. Cheers to ya!
