B D G
Why’s it never light on my lawn
            C G D
Why does it rain and never say good-day to the new-born
B D G
On the big screen they showed us the sun
           C G D
But not as bright in life as the real one
          C G D
Its never quite the same as the real one
B F#
And tell me grey seal
            A E
how does it feel to be so wise
B F#
To see through eyes
          A E
That only see what’s real
B F# A E B
Tell me grey seal
B D G
I never learned why meteors were formed
       C G D
I only farmed in schools that were so worn and torn
B D G
If anyone can cry then so can I
       C G D
I read books and draw life from the eye
       C G D
All my life is drawings from the eye

Your mission bells were wrought by ancient men
The roots were formed by twisted roots
Your roots were twisted then
I was re-born before all life could die
The phoenix bird will leave this world to fly
If the phoenix bird can fly then so can I

I think the first chord in the verse is an Em. Also, when playing an acoustic version, I like to incorporate the bass line, which rides a b note over all the chords, into the guitar chords. So the B chord would be the same. For the F# chord, drop the C# note to a B. For the A chord, instead of open A string, bar the A string at the second for your B note. E chord remains the same. I think this really adds some nice color and fullness. Whadya think?

To clarify, in reference to those chord adjusments I spoke of, I am talking about the chorus. And thanks for posting this song!

One last correction. The C chords are A minors.
