...ALWAYS ON MY MIND... by Elvis Presley
-----------------------.................

*Released 1972*

[Intro]

G

[Verse 1]

G D/F# Em G/D C D
Maybe I didn't treat you, quite as good as I should have?
G D/F# Em G/D C#m7b5
Maybe I didn't love you, quite as often as I could have?

[Bridge 1]

C G
 Little things I should have said and done;
C C/B Am D
I just never took the time.

[Chorus 1]

         Em D7/F# G Am Bm
You were always on my mind,
C D7 G C D
You were always on my mind.

[Verse 2]

G D/F# Em G/D C D
And maybe I didn't hold you, all those lonely, lonely times?
G D/F# Em G/D C#m7b5
And I guess I never told you; I'm so happy that you're mine.

[Bridge 2]

C G
If I made you feel, second best,
C C/B Am D
Girl, I'm so sorry; I was blind.

[Chorus 2]

         Em D7/F# G Am Bm
You were always on my mind,
C D7 G C D
You were always on my mind.

[Middle 8]

G G/F# Em G/D
 Tell.......me,
C C/B Am D7
Tell me that your sweet love hasn't died.
G G/F# Em G/D
 Give.......me,
        C C/B Am D (G)
Give me one more chance, to keep you satis-fied, satis-fied.

[Solo]

G D/F#, Em G/D C#m7b5

[Bridge 3]

C G
 Little things I should have said and done;
C C/B Am D
I just never took the time.

[Chorus 3]

         Em D7/F# G Am Bm
You were always on my mind,
C D7
You were always on my mind...

[Interlude]

G D/F# Em G/D, C C/B Am, D

(n.C) G
You were always on my... mind.

[Coda]

G D/F# Em G/D C D
Maybe I didn't treat you, quite as good as I should have?
G D/F# Em G/D C D
Maybe I didn't love you, quite as often as I could have?
G D/F# Em G/D C D
And maybe I didn't hold you, all those lonely, lonely times?
G D/F# Em G/D C D
And I guess I never told you; I'm so happy that you're mine.

(Repeat to Fade)

i like it a lot. but are you sure its in the key of D? theres a C# and an F# in that key and not many of those in the song. infact, theres not a single C# but there are plenty of C's
