Hi!
I wrote the chords as they are in the real song. They look
hard and ugly, but they are very simple and easy in the
way I show you.

Riff 1:
This is based in Bb - Bbsus4
--------------------------------------------------------|
--------3-----3/4--3/4--3/4---------3-----3/4--3/4--3---|
-----3-----3--3----3----3--------3-----3--3----3----3---|
--------------------------------------------------------|
--1---------------------------1-------------------------|
--------------------------------------------------------|

Dm: D#: F: Bb:
-5- -6- --8- -6-|
-6- -8- -10- -6-|
-7- -8- -10- -7-|
-7- -8- -10- -8-|
-5- -6- --8- -8-|
--- --- ---- -6-|

         Riff 1
As the snow flies...
     Dm
On a cold and grey Chicago morning
  D# F Riff 1
A poor little baby child is born in the ghetto

        Riff 1
And his mamma cries...
         Dm
'Cos if there's one thing that she dont need
        D# F Riff 1
It is another hungry mouth to feed in the ghetto

CHORUS 1:
                Dm
People dont you understand
                  D# Bb
The child needs a helping hand
    D# F Bb
Or he'll gonna be an angry young man some day

CHORUS 2:
               Dm
Take a look at you and me
            D# Bb
Are we too blind to see
   D# Dm Cm
Or do we simply turn our heads and look the other way

Well, the world turns..
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose
Plays in the street as the cold wind blows in the ghetto

And his hunger burns...
So he starts to roam the streets at night
And he learns how to steal and he learns how to fight in the ghetto

CHORUS 2:
Then one night in desperation the young man breaks away
He buys a gun, he steals a car,
He tries to run but he dont get far

And his mamma cries...
As a crowd gathers round an angry young man
Face down in the street with a gun in his hand in the ghetto

And as her young man dies...
On a cold and grey Chicago morning
Another little baby child is born in the ghetto...

Sweet! Although I found it easier to play
The "in the ghetto"-part using the 6th band /6th string (instead of 1st band/5th)
and go to 7th band/4th string to 6th band/3rd string and slide to 7th band/6th string.
