Song: In the ghetto (The vicious circle)
Artist: Elvis Presley
Composer: Mac Davis

Tabbed by DJ ('DiddyD' at ultimateGuitar.com)
29th July 2015

TUNING:
The original record is very slightly flat of concert pitch.
To match it, use a chromatic tuner and de-tune all strings by
approx. minus 10. Alternatively, find a live version to play
along with, which is more likely to be in concert pitch.

CAPO: 3rd fret (Sounds in the key of Bb)

Chord names and fret positions are relative to the capo:
G   = 320003     C   = x32010    Am    = x02210
C/G = 3x2013     D7  = xx0212    D     = xx0232
Bm  = x24432     C/B = x2x010    Dsus4 = xx0233
h   = hammer-on                  Dsus2 = xx0230

The key to this song is in the hammered-on riff shown in the intro.
This riff carries on throughout large sections of the song.
Although the 1st and 5th strings don't actually need to be sounded,
you may find it easier to form the full G chord as anchorage, as it
feels stronger to me when adding the extra hammered-on notes.
I play the G chord using the middle finger on the 5th string, the ring
finger on the 6th string and the little finger on the 1st string.
Then hammer-on the notes on the 2nd and 4th strings using the index
and middle fingers.
