                        JAILHOUSE ROCK ELVIS PRESLEY

Eb/ E/ Eb/ E/

The warden threw a party in the county jail
prison band was there and they began to wail
band was jumpin' and the joint began to swing
should've heard thosed kocked out jail birds sing

Lets Rock !
Lets Rock !
     B7 A7
Everybody in the whole cell block
      E A7 E
Was a-dancin' to the Jail-house Rock!

Eb/ E/ Eb/ E/
Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone
Little Joe was blowin' on the slide trombone
The drummer boy for Illinois went crash, boom, bang !
The whole rhythm section was the purple gang

Eb/ E/ Eb/ E/
Number forty seven said to Number Three:
You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see.
I sure would be delighted with your company
Come on and do the jailhouse rock with me.

Eb/ E/ Eb/ E/
The sad sack was a-sittin' on a block of stone
Way over in the corner weeping all alone
The warden said: " Hey, buddy, don't you be no square.
If you can't find a partner use a wooden chair !"

Eb/ E/ Eb/ E/
Shifty Henry said to Bugs: "For Heaven's sakes,
No one's lookin'; now's our chance to make a break
Bugsy turned to Shifty and he said " Nix, nix;
I wanna stick around a while and get my kicks.

I second the 2nd poster regarding the correct chords.

Simply side the entire thing down a 1/2 step...(tuning down a 1/2 step would be useful if you don't have the hand strength to hit the more difficult power chords of Eb/G#/A#).

And for added difficulty + accuracy if playing solo/acoustic -> use your pinky to hit those bass notes.

(showing only the lowest 3 strings in correct tuning):

G# Eb A#
D -------------8--8---8-(10)----------------
A -6--6--6-(8)-6-(10)-6--6---8--8---8-(10)--
E -4-(8)-4--4----------------6-(10)-6--6----

- Slide this entire thing down to the nut if you've tuned the guitar down a 1/2 step or are playing it transposed up to the original posters chord prog.
Thanks for posting (with lyrics)!
