Subject: Elvis Presley: That's Alright, Mama

Elvis heard bluesman Arthur Crudup play this as a medium shuffle; The King,
himself played it in a rockabilly style with a bass pattern alternating
between the root and the fifth. Both are great.

That's Alright, Mama
Arthur Crudup

A

A
Papa done told me too
A
'Son, that gal your foolin' with,
 A A7

 A7 D
But, that's alright, that's alright.
D E7 A
That's alright now mama, anyway you do

A

 A A7
Me hanging 'round your door
 A7 D
Well, that's alright, that's alright.
D E7 A

Sounds good. It's mostly about what you can do with your voice, this song. Not really the song for me...

This sounds good.

I think that you should play the A7 like

EADGBe
575685

I think it sounds better...

and the D and E, do I play like

D E
EADGBe EADGBe
x5453x and x7675x

Well... this is just what I think, but I think it's sounds cooler...

Sorry for the previous comment looking strange...

The D and E I play is actually D7 and E7, with open C7 shape...

EADGBe
x5453x is the D, or D7...

x7675x is the E, or E7...
