[Verse 1]
   G Em D G
I hear a lot of stories, I sup - pose they could be true,
 G C G D
All about love, and what it can do to you,
  G Em D G
High is the risk of striking out, the risk of getting hurt,
      G D C
And still... I have... so much to learn,
         C C4 C G Em D G
Well, I know, 'cause I think a - bout it all the time,
   C C4 C D
I know... that real love is hard to find!

[Chorus]
        G D Em C
And a good heart, these days, is hard to find,
  G C G D
True love, the lasting kind,
        G D Em C
And a good heart, these days, is hard to find,
      G D C
So please be gentle with this heart of mine!

{verse 2]
     G Em D G
My expectations may be high, I blame it on my youth,
  G C G D
Soon enough I'll learn the painful truth,
       G Em D G
I'll face it like a fighter, then boast of how I've grown,
   G D C
Anything is better than being alone,
         C C4 C G Em D G
Well, I know, 'cause I learn a little every day,
   C C4 C D
I know, 'cause I listen when the experts say...

[Chorus]
           G D Em C
..That a good heart, these days, is hard to find,
  G C G D
True love, the lasting kind,
        G D Em C
And a good heart, these days, is hard to find,
      G D C
So please be gentle with this heart of mine!

   C C4 C G Em D G

[Verse 3]
   G Em D G
As I reflect on all my childhood dreams,
G C G D
My ideas of love weren't as foolish as they seemed,
G Em D G
If I don't start looking now, I'll be left be - hind,
        G D C
And a good heart, these days, it's hard to find,
    C C4 C G Em D G
I know, it's a dream I'm willing to de - fend,
   C C4 C D
I know, it'll all be worth it, in the end!

[Chorus]
        G D Em C
And a good heart, these days, is hard to find,
  G C G D
True love, the lasting kind,
        G D Em C
And a good heart, these days, is hard to find,
      G D C
So please be gentle with this heart of mine!

[Chorus & Coda]
        G D Em C
And a good heart, these days, is hard to find,
  G C G D
True love, the lasting kind,
    G D Em C
A good heart, these days, is hard to find,
      G D C6
So please be gentle with this heart-----,
 D7 D7sus4 G
With this heart of mine-----!

    C G
||:    Oh, oh-oh, oh, oh-oh, a good heart, uh-uh!
                         C
Baby, baby, a good heart!:|| [Repeat]
