"Within A Mile Of Home"
By Flogging Molly

tabbed by Eric Bonkowski

i know the intro and verses are correct because i was just saw Molly
live and i watched dave play it on his acoustic

intro:
|D G Bm G A|
NOTE: the D and Bm are quick changes. one strum would do it

 D G A
Dust falls on the empty halls of my old school
          D G A
Where the memories fade like the casualty, a forgotten fool
    D G A
Now wide-eyed has become the blind of spoken rule
   Bm G
As equal only deep is now the word
    D A
The lesson's not the answer you once heard

                 D A G
"Don't turn your back on me, don't ever let me down"
             D A G
She said, "I picked you up each time before you hit the ground
             D A G
Your selfish face is now erased when someone mentions you
        Bm G
And the darkness that you left is overstepped aside
     D A
Will disappear in clouds, the sun arrives

     N.C. D G Bm G A D G Bm G A
Within a mile of home within a mile of home"

   D G A
Oh worry, oh my worry has it been that long?
    D G A
The whistle keeps on blowing but the chill's all gone
          D G A
His empty frame cannot explain, there's nothing left inside
   Bm G
So sing to me a song from yesterday
     D A
When laughter filled the tears that we now make

                 D A G
"Don't turn your back on me, don't ever let me down"
             D A G
She said, "I picked you up each time before you hit the ground
             D A G
Your selfish face is now erased when someone mentions you
   Bm G
If only you had seen what I now see
    D A
And turned the corner where you would of been

     N.C. D G Bm G A D G Bm G A
Within a mile of home within a mile of home"

   Bm G A
So sing to me, sing me a song, a song from yesterday
             Bm G
And when the laughter turned these tears before the promises,
             A
then they'll slip away
                Bm G
Don't turn your back on me, dont't turn your back on me, don't
            A
ever let me down
                Bm G
Don't turn your back on me, dont't turn your back on me, don't
            A
ever let me down
       D G
We are within a mile, we are within a mile, within a mile of
A
home
       D G
We are within a mile, we are within a mile, within a mile of
A
home
       D G
We are within a mile, we are within a mile, within a mile of
A
home
       D G
We are within a mile, we are within a mile, within a mile of
A
home

***

i'm not positive about the ending. i know the final chord is an A, and
a Bm and G sound right. if not, the song's in the key of D like a bunch
of other molly songs, so mess around with those chords to fix as needed.
other than that, the 'intro' above isn't the first guitar you hear, it's
the guitar part you hear accompanied by the accordion
and violin.

the second half after the interlude where he plays the intro again changes to key of C and the chords remain F-G-Am-Am throughout, and the final chords are Fmaj7, Am, G. the electric intro is a picking around F-C-F-C-F-C-G. its those chords, but he picks around, i have it figured out i might tab it up later
