Secrets Don't Make Friends
Album: Dear Diary, my Teen Angst has a Bodycount
Tuning: Drop D

x = mute the string
p = pull off
h = hammer on
~ = slide
PM = palm mute the note

I've seen a few tabs of this around, but I always seem to hear something different,
here's what I got. The strumming isn't particularly difficult, but you might wanna
strum the muted --x-- parts alternatively. I'd say this is more or less correct, as
far I as I can tell.

(The first note is just a D5 chord followed by a pick scrape)

Intro (Guitar 1):

e|------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------------------------|
D|--0-0--0--0----8-8--8--8----10-10--10--10----7--7--7--|

D|--0-0--0--0----8-8--8--8----10-10--10--10-----x-x-x-x-x--|

Intro (Guitar 2):

e|------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|--10--10---10---10----10--10---10---10-----9--9---9--9------------|
D|---x---x----x----x-----x---x----x----x-----x--x---x--x---7--7--7--|

D|---x---x----x----x-----x---x----x----x-----x--x---x--x--x-x-x-x-x-|
A|---8---8----8----8-----8---8----8----8-----7--7---7--7--x-x-x-x-x-|
D|--------------------------------------------------------x-x-x-x-x-|

Verse pt.1:
(There are two guitars in this bit, but one is very subtle, in the album version of
the song anyway, and I can't figure out exactly what it is, so here is the more
obvious one)

e|---------------|
B|---------------|
G|--7--~10--~12--| (This is played throughout the entire verse, not
D|---------------| just at the beginning)
A|---------------|
D|---------------|

Verse Pt. 2:
(This starts at "you were always my enemy..." The fist notes on each 'section' can
be played as complete chords, but it's a bit easier not to)
All this is played twice.

e|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
G|------------2h3p2---------------|------------2h3p2---------------|
D|--0-0--2h3---------3--2p0--2h1--|--0-0--2h3---------3--2p0--2h1--|
A|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
D|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|

e|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
G|------------2h3p2---------------|------------2h3p2---------------|
D|-------2h3---------3--2p0--2h1--|------2h3----------3--2p0--2h1--|
A|--1-1---------------------------|--1-1---------------------------|
D|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|

Just before the chorus, there's another D5 chord.

Chorus (Guitar 1):
(You can work out the strumming, it's not hard).

e|------------|
B|------------|
G|------------|
D|--8--0--10--| x4
A|--8--0--10--|
D|--8--0--10--|

Chorus (Guitar 2):
(Again, work out the strumming)

e|------------------------------|
B|------------------------------|
G|--10----15----14----12----14--|
D|---x-----x-----x-----x-----x--| x4
A|---8----13----12----10----12--|
D|------------------------------|

After the chorus comes another intro, then a verse, then a chorus.

Bridge:
The sections at the beginning are played once by each guitar (hear it in the different
channels), but if you are playing it by yourself, it works too.

e|----------------|----------------|-------------------|
B|----------------|----------------|-------------------|
G|-----------1----|-----------1----|-------------------|
D|--0-0--0-----3--|--0-0--0-----3--|--3-3-3--5-3--2h3--| x8
A|--0-0----0------|--0-0----0------|--3-3-3--5-3--2h3--|
D|--0-0-----------|--0-0-----------|--3-3-3--5-3--2h3--|

After that comes an 'acoustic' part, which I haven't bothered to work out yet, but it's
not vital anyway.
Then another two chorus.

Outro (Guitar 1):

e|----------------|----------------|-------------------------|
B|----------------|----------------|-------------------1-----|
G|-----------1----|-----------1----|---------2h3p2-----------|
D|--0-0--0-----3--|--0-0--0-----3--|--3-3-3---------2-----2--|
A|--0-0----0------|--0-0----0------|--3-3-3------------------|
D|--0-0-----------|--0-0-----------|--3-3-3------------------|
   PM PM PM PM

Outro (Guitar 2):

e|----------------|----------------|-------------------------|
B|----------------|----------------|-------------------------|
G|-----------1----|-----------1----|-------------------2-----|
D|--0-0--0-----3--|--0-0--0-----3--|--3-3-3--3h5p3-----------|
A|--0-0----0------|--0-0----0------|--3-3-3---------5-----3--|
D|--0-0-----------|--0-0-----------|--3-3-3------------------|
   PM PM PM PM

And that's about it, I hope it helps.
