[Chorus]

 Em Am D7 G
Strumming my pain with my fingers. singing my life with his words.
 G A D C
Killing me softly with his song. Killing me softly with his song.
           G C
Telling my whole life with his words.
            Esus4 E
Killing me softly, with his song.

[Verse]

Am7 D
I heard he sang the good song.
G C
I heard he had a style.
Am7 D
And so I came to see him,
    Em
and listen for a while.
Am7 D7
And there he was a young boy
G B7
a stranger to my eyes.

[Chorus]

 Em Am D7 G
Strumming my pain with my fingers. singing my life with his words.
 G A D C
Killing me softly with his song. Killing me softly with his song.
           G C
Telling my whole life with his words.
            Esus4 E
Killing me softly, with his song.

[Verse]

Am7 D
I felt all flushed with fever
G C
embarrassed by the crowd.
Am7 D
I felt he found my letters
    Em
and read each one out loud.
Am7 D7
I prayed that he would finish
G B7
but he just kept right on.

[Chorus]

 Em Am D7 G
Strumming my pain with my fingers. singing my life with his words.
 G A D C
Killing me softly with his song. Killing me softly with his song.
           G C
Telling my whole life with his words.
            Esus4 E
Killing me softly, with his song.

[Verse]

Am7 D
He sang as if knew me
G C
in all my dark despair.
Am7 D
And then he looked right through me
    Em
as if I wasn't there.
Am7 D7
And he just kept on singing
G B7
sining clear and strong

[Chorus]

 Em Am D7 G
Strumming my pain with my fingers. singing my life with his words.
 G A D C
Killing me softly with his song. Killing me softly with his song.
           G C
Telling my whole life with his words.
            Esus4 E
Killing me softly, with his song.

Hey Mikhailo, in the chorus you used 2 wrong chords - "G" at the first "killing me softly with his song" has to be "Em" and "Esus4" at the last "killing me softly with his song" has to be "F".
I can send you "my version" of this song - I transposed it to key A.

verse: Bm7 E7/G# A D
Bm7 E7 F#m
Bm E7 A C# C#sus4/D# C#/E#
chorus: F#m7 Bm7 E A /G#
F#m /E B/D# E D
A D G F#

See what you'll do with it!
Greetings,
muziekkaatje

hey, this may be a silly question but how is it meant to sound? A friend pointed this song out to me and the chords are really no problem but I just cant get any melody behind it. And I dont know if its only my version but the fugees origal does not seem to have a guitar in the background either. It sounds more like accapela with drums ... anybody's got a sample or something perhaps? thanks
