Get It Right - Glee Cast
On of the original songs written by Adam Anders for episode "Original Song" 2x16.
Standard tuning: eBGDAE
Most of the chords are four beats each unless it says something else.

[Intro]

 |Bm / A / |G /// |
e|---2-------------|------|
B|-3---3--0--2-----|-0----|
G|--------------2--|------|
D|-----------------|------|
A|-----------------|------|
E|-----------------|------|

[Verse 1]

Bm G D
What have I done? I wish I could run
                A
Away from this ship goin' under
Bm G D
Just tryin' to help, hurt everyone else
                A
Now I feel the weight of the world is
| G ///| G ///| *
  On my shoulders

[Chorus]

D A
What can you do when your good isn't good enough?
    |Bm / A / | G
When all that you touch tumbles down?
       D A
'Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things
 |Bm / A / | G
I just wanna fix it somehow
   |Bm / A / | G
But how many times will it take?
   |Bm / A / | G
Oh, how many times will it take for me?
           D A
To get it right
          |Bm/A/| G
To get it ri-igh-ight

[Verse 2]

Bm G D
Can I start again with my faith shaken?
                   A
'Cause I can't go back and undo this
Bm G D
I just have to stay and face my mistakes
                A
But if I get stronger and wiser
| G / / / |G / / / | *
 I'll get through this

[Chorus]

D A
What can you do when your good isn't good enough?
    |Bm / A / | G
When all that you touch tumbles down?
       D A
'Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things
 |Bm / A / | G
I just wanna fix it somehow
   |Bm / A / | G
But how many times will it take?
   |Bm / A / | G
Oh, how many times will it take for me?
           D A
To get it right

[Bridge]

Em
So I throw up my fist
D
I will punch in the air
G |G / / / A Em| (Quick change from A to Em)
And accept the truth that sometimes life isn't fair
Em D
Yeah, I'll send out a wish
                       G
Yeah, I'll send up a prayer
G
And finally, someone will see
G n.c.
How much I care!

[Chorus]

D A
What can you do when your good isn't good enough?
    |Bm / A / | G
When all that you touch tumbles down?
       D A
'Cause my best intentions keep making a mess of things
 |Bm / A / | G
I just wanna fix it somehow
   |Bm / A / | G
But how many times will it take?
   |Bm / A / | G
Oh, how many times will it take for me?
           D A
To get it right
        | Bm / A /| G
To get it ri- igh-ight

* (or | G /( A )/| G / A /| or | Bm / A /| G / A /|
all of them work, just find what is best for you.)

Had to compliment you on being so thorough. Didn't just throw the chords on and expect me to sort out the timing. Great job.

I don't want to sound stupid, but I'm a beginner guitar player and I taught myself how to play and have never had lessons. So I don't know what the slashes mean?... Could someone explain that to me? Thanks! :)

LOVE IT, AMAZING
If you like glee I've done the chords for outcast (one of Marley's original songs) and I would really appreciate some feedback :)
