RHINESTONE COWBOY

I have taken into account the orchestral movement on this interpretation with some of
the chords (Gsus4 Cmaj7) plus as you are playing the C at the start of verse, hit the
1st and 3rd fret on the top e(whilst still strumming) in time with 'so long' on the
first verse etc. Its a good adaption for solo acoustic guitar and goes down very well
when I play it at a gig. (Nice on a 12 string!)

Ive put the riff at the end of the chorus and the two chords beginners might have a
problem with at the bottom. As the original just fades out Ive come up with A--2--
added to the riff on the chorus end then finish on a C. See what you think

Enjoy!!

RHINESTONE COWBOY

[Verse]

C
I've been walking these streets so long
Singing the same old song
                                             G (Gsus4 G)
I know every crack in the dirty sidewalks of Broadway
            F
Where hustle is the name of the game
    Dm F C
And nice guys get washed away like the snow and the rain
                G
There's been a load of compromising
            F C
On the road to my horizon
    F Dm G (Dm G)
But I'm gonna be where the lights are shining on me

[Chorus]

       F G C (F C)
Like a rhinestone cowboy
C Cmaj7 G (C G)
Riding out on a horse in a star spangled rodeo
       F G C (F C)
Like a rhinestone cowboy
C Cmaj7 G
Getting cards & letters from people I don't even know
G F *
And offers coming over the phone

[Verse]

  C
I really don't mind the rain
and smiles can hide all the pain
                                                            G
You're down while taking the train that's taking the long way
   F
And I dream of things I'll do
       Dm F C
With a subway token and a dollar tucked inside my shoe

G
There'll been a load of compromising
            F C
On the road to my horizon
    F Dm G (Dm G)
But I'm gonna be where the lights are shining on me

[Chorus]

       F G C (F C)
Like a rhinestone cowboy
C Cmaj7 G (C G)
Riding out on a horse in a star spangled rodeo
       F G C (F C)
Like a rhinestone cowboy
C Cmaj7 G
Getting cards & letters from people I don't even know
G F *
And offers coming over the phone

[Chorus]

       F G C (F C)
Like a rhinestone cowboy
C Cmaj7 G (C G)
Riding out on a horse in a star spangled rodeo
       F G C (F C)
Like a rhinestone cowboy
C Cmaj7 G
Getting cards & letters from people I don't even know
G F *
And offers coming over the phone

You have some incorrect chords and if you intended to include some orchestral changes, you're also missing a few. Notably, on the last line of the verse the chords change from F to D#/F to G, not F to Dm to G.

I'm recreating the chart in ProChord format and can upload when I'm finished if you're interested.
