seems like glen hansard plays it in several different patterns and I can't figure out what glen has in his brain that he plays with for this song, but any altercation from this and the vr.1 sounds decent to me.
For the second chord from the chorus, I also found out from few different live videos on youtube, it can be played:

Honestly, I think the varieties of this song are endless, as glen changes it very often in his live shows, I'd say anything that sticks with your fingers will do.
