Hi there:) This was requested by a UG
user. She wants to perform it at her Senior
Graduation. Wow! Talk about pressure! Lol!!
I hadn't heard of the song before and have
fallen in love with it since! I think this
sounds good :) Any mistakes let me know!
Also, If anyone can figure out the picking
pattern, let me know:)

(This was tabbed right along with the CD track)

STANDARD TUNING w/
CAPO ON 4

Intro-
C C C C

      C C
Every now and then I go back in time
        C Am
To that little red house on Oak Mont Drive
C D4
Next to that big magnolia tree,
  D2/G D4 C
A wide eyed girl running wild and free
       C...stop
That's me

C C
Me and my brothers in the Georgia sun,
        C Am
Running through the yard with the sprinklers on
C D4
Lazy dog lying in the cool green grass
D2/G D4 C
Never thought life would fly so fast
         C...stop
It don't last

        C D4 D2/G D4 C
I still hear that old sweet song,
         C D4 D2/G D4 C
A simple melody calling me back home
          Am D C Am
Where the love grows pure and strong
       Am C -once
That's where my heart
                        C C C C
That's where my heart belongs

C C
Skipping stones and kicking cans
         C Am
Stealing my first kiss by the lemonade stand
C D4
I can't forget those southern nights
D2/G D4 C
Fallen stars and fireflies
       C
Felt so right

        C D4 D2/G D4 C
I still hear that old sweet song,
         C D4 D2/G D4 C
A simple melody calling me back home
          Am D C Am
Where the love grows pure and strong
       Am C -once
That's where my heart
                        C C
That's where my heart belongs

D Am D C....C -once
(picking)

      C C
Those family days are all but gone
     C Am
Everybody moved out, everybody's moved on
         C D4
When I'm all alone and feeling like
D2/G D4 C
I'm stuck in the middle of this crazy life
             C
I just close my eyes

          C D4 D2/G D4 C
And I can hear that old sweet song,
         C D4 D2/G D4 C
A simple melody calling me back home

      C D4 D2/G D4 C
I can hear that old sweet song,
         C D4 D2/G D4 C
A simple melody calling me back home
          Am D C Am
Where the love grows pure and strong
       Am C -once
That's where my heart
                 GG C C C C C -once
