BITTER GREEN Time: 4/4 (sync) Tenor: D Bass: C

INTRO:  1,  1,  2m,  2m

   1             *                     5               *
Up-on the Bitter Green she walked, the hills above the town
3m            *             2m            *
Echoed to her footsteps, as soft as eider-down
3m              *         2m            *
Waiting for her master to kiss away her tears
*                   5
Waiting through the years

CHORUS:
       1           *           4              5
Bitter Green, they called her, walking in the sun
4            5            1    *
Loving ev'ry-one that she met____
       1          *           4              5
Bitter Green they called her, waiting in the sun
4                5               1     *
Waiting for some-one to take her home____

     1            *          5            *
Some say he was a sailor who died away at sea
     3m                        2m            *
Some say he was a prisoner who never was set free
3m            *         2m                *
Lost upon the ocean, he died there in the mist
*             5
Dreaming of a kiss

    1              *                  5                    *
But now the Bitter Green is gone, the hills have turned to rust
      3m            *              2m                *
There comes a weary stranger whose tears fall in the dust
3m              *           2m            *
Kneeling by the churchyard, in the autumn mist
*             5
Dreaming of a kiss

ENDING: REPEAT CHORUS

Number system? What? Dude just post the chord names on top so I don't have to keep looking down the page to see what 1,2,3,4,5 correspond to. You tried to do something different but it's just annoying. 3* Only because the chords are okay, but horrible format man.

PurelyCanadian is right. This number system is the shits. Having said that,
I checked your other tabs and they are very good. You obviously have a handle on things. But please use the chords and not the numbers. Thanks, KK.

chord names please. after over 40 years of playing I don't need to learn more than chord names or tabs. Seriously.
