It takes a worried man to sing a worried song
   D A
It takes a worried man to sing a worried song
            E E7 A
I'm worried now but I won't be worried long.

I went across the river and I lay down to sleep
  D A
I went across the river and I lay down to sleep
            E E7 A
When I woke up there were shackles on my feet.

Twenty nine links of chain around my feet
D A
Twenty nine links of chain around my feet
            E E7 A
And on each link an initial of my name.

Twenty one years on the R.C. Mountain Line.

Train came around - sixteen coaches long

The train came around - sixteen coaches long
           E E7 A
The girl I love is on that train and gone.

Should anyone ask you 'who composed this song?'

           E E7 A
Say it was I and I sing it all day long.

Chords sound perfect - only thing is I think that each time there is another line of the verse (i.e. the first line repeats three times rather than just twice). The third line is identical to the first line. Other than that sounds brilliant though! Nice one

There's a hundred ways to do this old song, and CyberFoggy has done a great job laying down one way.

Scruggs and Flatt repeat twice, and that's the version I like.
