Gardenia

Where are you?
F#
Black goddess in a shabby raincoat

F#
Cheap purple baby-doll dress

A gardenia in your hair
F#
Much taller and stronger than me

A forbidden dream, a dream, a dream

The streets were your home

Your hourglass ass

Your slant devil eyes

And the ditch on your spine
Deep ass, deep ass

[Chorus]

F# E
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia what to do tonight

All I wanna do is tell Gardenia what to do tonight

[Bridge]

D
We lay in the darkness
F# E
Then she turned the lights on

I saw a dangerous habit
F# E
When she turned the lights on
D
There's always a catch in the darkness when you
F# G#
When you turn the lights on
D
There's always a catch Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well

[Chorus]

F# E
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia what to do tonight
F# E
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia what to do tonight

[Verse 3]

F#
Alone in the cheapo motel
E
By the highway to hell
F#
America's greatest living poet was ogling you all
E
Night, You should be wearing the finest gown
F#
But here you are now -- Gas, food, lodging,
E
poverty, misery --and gardenia
F#
You could be burned at the stake
E
For all your mistakes, mistakes, mistakes

[Chorus]

F# E
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia what to do tonight
F# E
All I wanna do is tell Gardenia what to do tonight

I don't think that main riff is accurate at all. Plus the chords seem a little iffy. I might take a crack at it.

I think the cords are right but the riff is tabbed up an octave. A couple of the notes are in the open E chord and sound better.
