Carry you home
All the lost souls

E-A-D-G-B-E

Capo 2nd

[Intro]

C-Am-F-C
C-Am-F-C

[1st verse]

   C Am F C
Trouble is her only friend and he's back again.
   C Am F C
Makes her body older than it really is.
 C Am
She says it's high time she went away,
               F C
No one's got much to say in this town.
   C Am F C
Trouble is the only way is down.
        G
Down, down.

[Chorus]

                   C Am
As strong as you were, tender you go.
                     Em F
I'm watching you breathing for the last time.
                  C Am
A song for your heart, but when it is quiet,
                 Em F
I know what it means and I'll carry you home.
                 C
I'll carry you home.

[2nd verse]

C Am
If she had wings she would fly away,
    F C
And another day God will give her some.
   C Am F C
Trouble is the only way is down.
        G
Down, down.

[Chorus]

                   C Am
As strong as you were, tender you go.
                    Em F
I'm watching you breathing for the last time.
                  C Am
A song for your heart, but when it is quiet,
                Em F
I know what it means and I'll carry you home.
                 C
I'll carry you home.

[Interlude]

               F C G
And they were all born pretty in New York City tonight,
        F C G
And someone's little girl was taken from the world tonight,
            F C G
Under the Stars and Stripes.

[Chorus]

                  C Am
As strong as you were, tender you go.
                     Em F
I'm watching you breathing for the last time.
                  C Am
A song for your heart, but when it is quiet,
                Em F
I know what it means and I'll carry you home.
                  C Am
As strong as you were, tender you go.
                     Em F
I'm watching you breathing for the last time.
                  C Am
A song for your heart, but when it is quiet,
                Em F
I know what it means and I'll carry you home.
                (C)
I'll carry you home.

So much better playing it on the 2nd fret - a more satisfying timbre for those of us who don't have piano accompaniment, well tabbed. I would just like to point out that the verses are C Am F repeating over and over - so add an Am & F at the end of the lines of the verses ending with a C chord. The best tab of this song I have seen to-date, keep it up.

I agree with the quick Am F at the end of lines 1,2,4 of the first verse and line 2 for the second.
Capo on the second if you tune to E-flat.

Great tab for sure, great song.

Sorry I messed up : capo on second if guitar is standard - is right, I thought I was playing on one of my guitars which is always in E flat.
