[Verse 1]

        D A
You can play the game and you can act out the part
           Bm D/A G
Though you know it wasn't written for you
             D A A#dim7
But tell me, how can you stand there with your broken heart
  Bm D/A G
Ashamed of playing the fool
D A
One thing can lead to an-other;
            Bm D/A G
it doesn't take any sac-ri-fice
    D A A#dim7
Oh, father and mother, sis-ter and brother,
Bm D/A G (D/F#)
if it feels nice, don't think twice

[Chorus]

D/F# Em7 A
Just shower the people you love with love
Em7 A
Show them the way that you feel
Em7 A A#dim7 Bm F#dim7
Things are gonna work out fine if you only will
Em7 A
Shower the people you love with love
Em7 A
Show them the way that you feel
Em7 A A#dim7 Bm C G
Things are gonna be much better if you only will.

[Verse 2]
D A
    You can run but you cannot hide;
Bm D/A G
       this is widely known
    D A A#dim7
And what you plan to do with your foolish pride
            Bm D/A G
when you're all by yourself alone
         D A
Once you tell somebody the way that you feel
        Bm D/A G
you can feel it beginning to ease
             D A A#dim7
I think it's true what they say about the squeaky wheel
Bm D/A G (D/F#)
always getting the grease.

[Chorus]

     Em7 A
Just shower the people you love with love
Em7 A
Show them the way that you feel
Em7 A A#dim7 Bm F#dim7
Things are gonna work out fine if you only will
Em7 A
Shower the people you love with love
Em7 A
Show them the way that you feel
Em7 A A#dim7 Bm C G
Things are gonna be much better if you only will.

Better to shower the people you love with love
Em7 A
Show them the way that you feel
Em7 A A#dim7 Bm F#dim7
Things are gonna be just fine if you only will
Em7 A
Shower the people you love with love
Em7 A
Show them the way that you feel
Em7 A A#dim7 Bm
Things are gonna be much better if you only will.

Em7 A Em7 A
Shower the people you love with love; show them the way that you feel (repeat)
              Em7 A
  They say in every life,
               Em7 A
They say the rain must fall
            Em7 A
  Just like pouring rain
          Em7 A
  Make it rain
          Em7 A Em7 A
Make it rain.... Love, love, love is sunshine.

Intro is Em7, D/F# (high (bottom) E string open), G, A. First 3 chords played kinda quickly (one down-stroke per chord) with a very brief delay between G and A chord. Kinda creates a walk-up the low (top) E string from E to A. I know it's supposed to be capo 3rd fret, but I think it sounds better on 2nd fret. Not a big deal either way.
