Strumming

One of the mot beautiful songs Jason has written.

Its designed for the Piano, but can work with the Ukulele in the right environment.

First verse just gently single/double strum the uke as a bare accompaniment, by the second
verse you can double strum with a big more gusto, then hit it bigger at the end before a soft finish.

[Intro]

C G Am F

[Verse]

C G
Six long months at sea, now a warmer current brings
Am F
Echoed fragments of a song I think we wrote
C G
With a worn thin book of maps and a faith so full of holes
Am F
It's a miracle we even stayed afloat

C Em Am
We could taste the salt through our fingertips
F G
And knew the time had come
C Em Am
So we said goodbye to the lives we'd lived
       Dm F Em G
And we pulled our anchor up

[Chorus]
C G Am F
Now we scrape the barnacles from off our hearts
C G Am F
And we row the boat to shore, hallelujah
C G Am F
You can feel the end even as we start
C G Am F
And we row the boat to shore, hallelujah

[Verse]

C G
Just done letting go of the things I used to own
Am F
Now I guess the tides are changing once again
C G
I got so goddamn good at navigating on my own
      Am F
But I guess it's time to bring the old boat in

C Em Am
Well, I've worked so hard to get my sea legs
     F G
I've earned these calloused hands
C Em Am
But I drank this ocean down to the dregs
        Dm F Em G
And I'm thirsty for dry land

[Chorus]
      C G Am F
Now I scrape the barnacles from my heart
      C G Am F
And I row the boat to shore, hallelujah
        C G Am F
I heard sirens sing themselves apart
C G
So I row the boat to shore
Am F
I row the boat to shore

    C G Am F
hallelu, hallelujah
    C G Am F
Hallelu, hallelujah

[Outro]

C G Am F
Row the boat to shore, hallelujah
C G Am F
Row the boat to shore, hallelujah
C G Am F
Row the boat to shore, hallelujah
C G Am F
Row the boat to shore, hallelujah
C G Am F
Row the boat to shore, hallelujah
C G Am F
Row the boat to shore, hallelujah
C G Am F
Row the boat to shore, hallelujah
C G Am F
Row the boat to shore, hallelujah
   C G Am F
We row, we row, we row the boat to shore
   C G Am F
We row, we row, we row the boat to shore
    C G Am F
Hallelu, hallelujah
    C G Am F C
Hallelu, hallelujah
