HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOU - Jay Jay Pistolet
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tabbed by: robbie
Email: robbiejh12@hotmail.com

This is a great song by Jay Jay Pistolet (http://www.myspace.com/jayjaypistolet). I
out the chords from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MvSuSsXFao). Enjoy!

Tuning: standard
Capo: 3

Chords (played with alternating bass notes):

   C E F Am
e|-0-|-0-|-1-|-0-|
B|-1-|-0-|-1-|-1-|
G|-0-|-1-|-2-|-2-|
D|-2-|-2-|-3-|-2-|
A|-3-|-2-|-3-|-0-|
E|-3-|-0-|-1-|-x-|

         C
Well, if I had my way
             E
You'd have a birthday every week
    F C
And you'd choose to spend them all with me
         C
I'd come down to the bus stop,
    E
Say you can't go to work
F C
You'd take my hand faithfully
         C
Then I'd gift wrap my heart
        E
And I'd write you a new song
F C
I'd try to right all your wrongs
        C
I would play with your hair
       E
And suggest what to wear
    F C
And I'd paint a smile where it belongs

      Am E
But I know that you're not broken
      F C
And I know that you're not bruised
           Am E
I know I'm easily forgotten
   F C
So Happy Birthday You

       C
Oh and every week I'd take you someplace
E
You've not been before
F C
I'd try to keep it under wraps
        C
Well we never drove to Paris
         E
And I've never been to Prague
F C
We should try them out, perhaps
           C
And we can document our travels
     E
On a handheld camera
F C
Put them to a theme song of kind
          C
If you've nothing left to show for it
    E
The story never fits
        F C
And the notion of the day is undermined

      Am E
But I know that you're not broken
      F C
And I know that you're not bruised
           Am E
I know I'm easily forgotten
   F C
So Happy Birthday You

[Trumpet solo]
C E F C
C E F C

          C
Well when we get home you're tired
              E
But you don't want to go to bed
       F C
So you lay in my arms instead
            C
You'd say tonight was just perfection
            E
And I don't want to go to sleep
F C
Can we do the same next week?

      Am E
But I know that you're not broken
      F C
And I know that you're not bruised
           Am E
I know I'm easily forgotten
   F C
So Happy Birthday You

        Am E
Yeah, I know that you're not broken
      F C
And I know that you're not bruised
           Am E
I know I'm easily forgotten
   F C
So Happy Birthday You

F C
Happy Birthday You
F C
Happy Birthday You
F C
Happy Birthday You
F C
Happy Birthday You
F C
Happy Birthday You

[finish on C]

Enjoy!

try chucking in a quick g chord at the end of each second c, helps the song flow a bit better when singing, good tab though

E

F C (G)
And I'd paint a smile where it belongs
