Continuing my dump of O'Rourke tabs + chords with Hotel Blue, from his latest record 'Simple Songs' ('there are no simple songs — only simple people'). This I believe was originally an instrumental or some such on a Japanese film he scored of the same name, 海燕ホテル・ブルー. I've listed it as intermediate, but that's only on account of some chords I wouldn't expect a novice to know. It's not really a particularly difficult song though. Where I've written C/B play: e|-0-| B|-1-| G|-0-| D|-0-| A|-2-| E|---| It's actually a Cmaj9/B, but I've never seen it referred to as that here, so for simplicity's sake I went with the 'wrong' name. Anyway, enjoy! [Intro] F#m G Bm F#m A#m Bm Em A Between the F#m and G, play the 2nd fret then the 4th fret on the G-string. Between the G and Bm, and between the F#m and A#m play an open A string. Between the Bm and F#m, play an open E-string. For the A, play this riff: e|-----------------------| B|---------------2-2-0-0-| G|---------0-2---2-2-2-2-| D|-----0-2-------2-2-2-2-| A|-0-2---------0-0-0-0-0-| E|-----------------------| [Verse] F#m G Bm That shadow you're seeing F#m A#m Has nowhere to go Bm There's no way of saying Em A Just go home F#m G Bm There's no sense in wearing F#m A#m White so you can't be Bm Seen out in the open Em A There's always me [Chorus] C C/B Am Eb Come on board with us now C C/B Am It's a long way to go G F And nowhere to stow Em D Where you'd be allowed [Verse] F#m G Bm There's no harm in asking F#m A#m It won't change a thing Bm I could or couldn't do for you Em A On the way F#m G Bm We'd better get going F#m A#m Not much left to see of you Bm If we wait for the sun to Em A go down [Instrumental] C C/B Am Eb C C/B Am G F Em D [Outro] C C/B Am Come on board with us now F C Cause all seats are taken Bb F Been taken away Dm Am Far away Repeat last 3 lines thrice, omitting the last line on the last repeat.
