INTRO

C G

C
I'm waiting watching and longing
     F C
That beautiful sight to behold

When I shall awake some bright morning
        G G7
In that city with streets of pure gold

   C
My savior has gone to prepare it
    F C
For all who accept his grace
    F C
And that's why I know I'll be welcome
     G G7
To a home in that wonderful place

GHORUS

           C
When I reach my home in that city
            F C
Shall I find you waiting up there
             F C
With the saints who have gone on before us
            G G7
To that beautiful home so fair
       C
My whole heart is set upon heaven
             F C
Where my savior's face I shall see
        F C
And live in the light of his glory
          G C
    Throughout all eternity

What a glorious reward for our labor
   G G7
To enter that beautiful gate

GHORUS

           C
When I reach my home in that city

Hi, good work on laying this out, a great tune, just for the beginners, its a waltz so 3/4 time. I have the Intro (relative to capo)roughly as...
D D D D
----------------1------------1--1-----1----------------------------|
----------------1------------1--1-----1----------------------------|
----------------2-----0--2---2--2-----0------0-2-0-----------0-----|
-------------3--3--3---------3--3-----3---3---------3--2--3-----3--|
--0-1-3-0-3-----0------------0--0--3-------------------------------|
-------------------------------------------------------------------|
Play it after the yodelling bit and the outro.Play the chords with down strums between the picking, lead straight in to the verse and Bob's your uncle. Listen to the song to get the hang of, tricky.

I started adding tabs after many years too.
I was pissed off that some of my favorites weren't tabbed, so that's how I started.
I'll modify this tab and add your comment, please let me know if something's wrong.
all the best
can't wait to see your own tabs!

I changed Capo so that we can play it with C G F shape chords.
I've been watching a lot of Rodgers and Carter stuff recently and I'm confident that's closer to what they played.
