Before I do this tab, I'm not doing it with a capo. It is debatable weather or not the
guitarist had a capo on the second fret, and put it in D, or weather he / she didn't have
a capo on the second fret.

If you don't like the B chord, you can put a capo on the second fret, and play D, A, G,
A through-out the entire song.

The way I play it on the intro, is i use power chords: E on the 7th, B on the 7th, A on
the 5th, then back to B on the 7th, palm-muted.
Verse: I use regular chords, while palm muting it, then when it goes to the chorus I
strum the regular chords:

Intro: E, B, A, B

E B A B
Baby, what do you say we just get lost?

           E B A B
Leave this one horse townlike two rebels without a cause.

      E
I got people in boston.

          B A B
Aint your daddy still in des moines?

       E
We can pack up tomorrow.

  B A B
Tonight, lets flip a coin

Chorus:
E B
Heads, carolina tails, california.

A B
Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer.

E B
Up in the mountains, down by the ocean.

A B
Where? it dont matter, as long as were goin

E B
Somewhere together. Ive got a quarter.

A B
Heads, carolina tails, california.

Chords played before second verse: E, B, A, B.

Verse 2:

We can load what we own in the back of a u-haul van.
Couple modern day moses, searchin for the promised land.
We can go four hundred miles before we stop for gas.
We can drive for a day, and then well take a look at the map.

Heads, carolina tails, california.
Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer.
Up in the mountains, down by the ocean.
Where? it dont matter, as long as were goin
Somewhere together. Ive got a quarter.
Heads, carolina tails, california.

Bridge:
           E B A B
Were gonna get outta here if we gotta ride a greyhound bus.

          E B A B
Boy, were bound to outrun the bad luck thats tailin us

Chorus:
Heads, carolina tails, california.
Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer.
Up in the mountains, down by the ocean.
Where? it dont matter, as long as were goin
Somewhere together. Ive got a quarter.
Heads, carolina tails, california.

O---oh, california! carolina! california!

Because it isn't an accurate tab. It's close ish. But the other tab that is already available is much more accurate and closer to the original song.

This is exactly how it's played. Watch the guitarist in these two videos of her singing live...
