Imo its a "basic" version;) It could be made more "colourful" E.g. play the progression G/Gmaj7/G7 instead of G. Or play Cmaj7 instead of C and a F7 behind the C over the line: "you are so beautiful" and it will sound like the text promises ;) And the Dm must lead to a G7. Music is a try :)

G G7 C Cm should be the progression on the "You are so beautiful" lines. It gives the song that extra flavor and "feels" that Joe Cocker put out there. Such a beautiful song.
