Blues Stay Away From Me:Johnny Burnette Trio.
(Formerly Rock And Roll Trio.) 1956.

***(I believe they changed the lyrics a tad..
and left out two verses. KK.)***

#1.
E
Well, I said, blues, stay away from me.
A E
Blues, why don't you set me free?
             B7 E
I don't know why, you keep a-hauntin' me.

#2.
E
Blues, stay away from me.
A E
Blues, why don't you set me free.
             B7 E
I don't know why, we never can agree.

(INTERLUDE:)

#3.
E
Love was never meant for me.
A E
True love was just a memor..y.
         B7 E
It seems somehow, we never can agree.

#4.
E
Well, I said, blues, stay away from me.
A E
Blues, why don't you set me free?
             B7 E
I don't know why, we never can agree.

A fifties smash from Kraziekhat.

(The other verses.)
My life is full of misery.
And dreams are like a memory.
They're bringing back your love, that used to be.

I got teardrops, so many I can't see.
And years don't mean a thing to me.
But time goes by, and still I can't be free.

I do this in D a lot. If you keep it in E, change the B to a B7 and get an alternate bass off the low E string.

I like the riff run on this a 1949 hit, wasn't born yet, but a good one.
