The Beast In Me
Written by Nick Lowe
Published by Plangent Visions Music Inc. ASCAP

 The beast in me
 F G C
Is caged by frail and fragile bars
 F G
 Restless by day
          C Bb D7
And by night rants and rages at the stars
 F G C
God help the beast in me

 The beast in me
Has had to learn to live with pain
And how to shelter from the rain
And in the twinkling of an eye
 Might have to be restrained
God help the beast in me

Sometimes it tries to kid me
That it's just a teddy bear
And even somehow manage to vanish in the air
And that is when I must beware
                 C F G C
Of the beast in me that everybody knows
 F G C
They've seen him out dressed in my clothes
 Bb D7
 Patently unclear
         F C
It it's New York or New Year
 F G C F
God help the beast in me

 G C
 The beast in me

I just watched a live performance at the Manhattan Center on YouTube and he's using a capo on the 3rd fret. Which makes
these chords sound wrong. It appears he is going from Em to D to Em. Can anybody help me? my email is

Just the capo on 3 and change the chords. For instance, the verse changes to A D E A D E A G B7 D E A
Seems to match this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TP6cwPCewgQ
