A Mirror Is Harder To Hold
Summer EP -- 2008

Tuning - Standard (E A D G B E)
*Chords are listed at end of song

Hit the root note of each chord before playing it through out the song (just listen;
hear it). Also, symbols in parentheses represent single notes -- not chords. Or a “walk
so to speak.

Ex. E5 (E F# G#)
e|----------------|
B|----------------|
G|--9-------------|
D|--9-------------|
A|--7---7--9--11--|
E|----------------|

Intro
E5 B5 A
E5 B/D# A
E5 B/D# C#m7
A B5 E5 (E F# G#)

Verse 1
          E5 B/D#
You could stay a while longer
         C#m7 B5 A
We could stay up and talk about last summer
         E5 B/D#
We could go down to the water
          C#m7 B5 A
Watch the sunset going under

Pre-Chorus 1
     C#m7 B5 A
It’s not that I’m a stranger to lonely moments
     E5 B/D# A C5
I’ve had my share of those

Chorus
             E5
Please don’t go
             B/D# C#m7
Please don’t leave me alone
  A B5 E5 (E F# G#)
A mirror’s so much harder to hold

Verse 2
        E5 B/D#
I could try and point the finger
        C#m7 B5 A
But the glass points in my direction
(A B D#) E5 B/D#
Sure, you got your sharp edges
       C#m7 B5 A
But my wounds are from my own reflection

Pre-Chorus 2
           C#m7 B5 A
You’ve got nothing I could ever hold against you
      E5 B/D# A C5
I got fatal flaws to call my own

Chorus

Bridge
        F#5 B/D#
I met a man who’s looking for perfection
        F#5 B/D#
Said he never met a girl who’s good enough
    G#
His eyes are getting old
            A
Like they’d love to love again
       C# B5 F#(no5)
Such a lonely m---an
       B5 B(no3)
Such a lonely man, eww eww eww

Verse 3
      E5 B/D#
I see him in my reflection
       C#m7 B5 A (A B D#)
Taking steps towards me these days
     E5 B/D#
So I hold you that much closer
    C#m7 B5 A
And pray we don’t throw this away

Pre-Chorus 3
     C#m7 B5 A
It’s not that I’m a man who couldn’t love you
  E5 B/D# A C5
I know what these arms are for

Chorus
             E5
Please don’t go
             B/D# C#m7
Please don’t leave me alone
  A B5 E5 B/D#
A mirror’s so much harder to hold
  C#m7 B5 A
A mirror’s so much harder to hold
(A B D#) E5
Please don't go
             B/D# C#m7
Please don’t leave me cold
  A B5 E5 (E F# G#)
A mirror is harder to hold

The chors sound nice, but I think it would sound better with power chords like C#m: -466--, it's just my opinion, good job, great song
