Song: Beautiful Disaster
Artist: Jon Mclaughlin
Album: Indiana
Track: 02

::Standard Tuning::

[Verse 1]

G
She loves her mama’s lemonade
C
Hates the sounds that goodbyes make
Em C
She prays one day she’ll find someone to need her

[Verse 2]

G
She swears that there’s no difference
C
Between the lies and complements
Em C
It’s all the same if everybody leaves her

[Pre-Chorus]

Am C
And every magazine tells her she’s not good enough
Am C
The pictures that she sees make her cry

[Chorus]

G D Em C
And she would change everything, everything just ask her
G D Em C
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster

Am Cadd9 Em Cadd9 Em Cadd9
And she needs someone to take her home

[Verse 3]

G
She’s giving boys what they want
C
Tries to act so nonchalant
Em C
Afraid they’ll see that she’s lost her direction

[Verse 4]

G
She never stays the same for long
C
Assuming that she’ll get it wrong
Em C
Perfect only in her imperfection

[Pre-Chorus]

Am
She’s not a drama queen
C
She doesn’t want to feel this way
Am C
Only seventeen but tired

[Chorus]

G D Em C
She would change everything for happy ever after
G D Em C
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster

Am Cadd9 Em
But she just needs someone to take her home

[Bridge]

Em C
Cuz she’s just the way she is
Dadd9 C
But no ones told her that’s ok

[Chorus]

G D Em C
And she would change everything, everything just ask her
G D Em C
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster

G D Em C
And she would change everything for happy ever after
G D Em C
Caught in the in between of beautiful disaster

   Am Cadd9 Em C
But she just needs someone to take her home
    Am Cadd9 Em
And she just needs someone to take her home

A Dadd9 is a little different than a Dsus2,

e|---|-x-|---|---|---|
B|---|---|---|---|-x-|
G|---|-x-|---|---|---|
D|---|---|---|---|---|
Lay your pointer finger over the e/B/G string on the second fret, and put your pinkie on the 5th fret of the B string...

An add9 chord should sound sweeter than a 'sus2 chord... reason is a sus2 gets rid of the third in the scale, (f# is the third of a D, so Dsus2 gets rid of the f# for an e like shown in the tab) but an 'add9 chord keeps the third, and makes the two as well. So with the one I showed, you'll have an e and an f# in the chord.

(this version is a little easier than barring the whole chord on the second fret and making the Cadd9 shape)
