G9: 0-10-9-10-10-10

           D9 G9
My analyst told me that I was right out of my head
              D9 G9
The way he de-scribed it he said I’d be better dead than live
I didn’t listen to his jive
  D9 B7
I knew all along that he was all wrong
      Em7
And I knew that he thought
A7 D Bm7 Em7
I was crazy but I’m not, oh, no

A7 D9 G9
My analyst told me that I was right out of my head
               D9
He said I need treatment but I’m not that easily led
       G9
He said I was the type that was most inclined
     D9 B7
When out of his sight to be out of my mind
       Em7
And he thought I was nuts
A7 D Bm7 Em7
No more ifs or ands or buts

     D9 G9
They say as a child I ap-peared
                              D9
A little bit wild with all my cra-zy ideas
But I knew what was happening
       G9
I knew I was a genius
D9 B7
What’s so strange when you know
              Em7
That you’re a wiz-ard at three?
A7 D Bm7 Em7
I knew that this was meant to be

A7 D9
  Now I heard little children
         G9
Were sup-posed to sleep tight
D9
That’s why I got into the vodka one night
   G9
My parents got frantic, didn’t know what to do
      D9
But I saw some crazy scenes before I came to
B7 Em7
Now do you think I was crazy?
A7 D Bm7 Em7
I may have been only three but I was swingin’

A7 D9
They all laughed at angry young men
G9
  They all laughed at Edison
    D9
And also at Einstein
                                   G9
So why should I feel sorry if they just couldn’t understand
                              D9
The idiomatic logic that went on in my head?

               B7
I had a brain, it was insane
   Em7
Oh, they used to laugh at me
     A7 D7 B7
When I refused to ride on all those double-decker buses
       Em7 A7 D G9 A7 B7 Em7
All be-cause there was no dri-ver at the top

A7 D9 G9
My analyst told me that I was right out of my head
                  D9
But I said, “Dear doc-tor, I think that it’s you instead
         G9
Because I have got a thing that’s unique and new
   D9 B7
To prove it I’ll have the last laugh on you
          Em7 A7 D7
‘Cause in-stead of one head, I got two
And you know two heads are better than one”

Annie doesn’t say “idiomatic logic” either. I could never be sure but it was something like “the ignomy and the logic”. Listen carefully and you’ll hear the “and” in the middle. Its the something and the logic. Love to have someone figure that out.

I think on the original jazz standard it was "A Gra-ahm Bell", but for reasons only known to Joni on Court & Spark its "Angry Young Men".
